Lifting Manager (LEEA Qualified)
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Lifting Manager to lead and oversee all lifting operations, ensuring compliance with international standards and the highest levels of safety, efficiency, and operational excellence.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
- Must hold one or more of the following LEEA Certifications:
- LEEA Appointed Person for Lifting Operations
- LEEA Mobile Cranes Diploma
- LOLER Competent Person
- LOLER Lift Planning
- LEEA Accredited - Lift Director & Critical Lift Planning
- LEEA Lifting Accessories Diploma
- Certified Rigger Level 1 from a reputable and recognized institution.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in managing lifting operations in critical and challenging environments, including at least 5 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of international lifting standards and regulations, including LOLER, BS7121, ASME B30, ANSI/ASSE A10, and ISO 4309:2017.
- Proven experience in preparing and reviewing lifting plans, including critical lift plans.
- Ability to plan lifting operations in accordance with BS7121 requirements, considering load characteristics, equipment capabilities, risk assessments, and method statements.
- Ability to calculate ground bearing pressures for crane lifting operations.
- Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety excellence in lifting and rigging operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and implement a comprehensive Lifting Management System across the organization.
- Develop lifting procedures, policies, and best practices in compliance with local and international standards.
- Prepare, review, and approve all types of lifting plans, including critical lift plans.
- Serve as the focal point for all lifting operations within the organization.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure effective implementation of control measures.
- Plan, monitor, and supervise lifting operations to ensure safe and efficient execution.
- Lead and coordinate lifting teams, including crane operators, riggers, slingers, and signalers.
- Provide technical guidance on the selection and use of lifting equipment and accessories.
- Ensure lifting equipment and gear are inspected, certified, and maintained in accordance with legal and industry requirements.
- Deliver training and coaching to lifting personnel on safe lifting practices and load stability.
- Investigate lifting incidents and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain accurate records of lifting activities, inspections, maintenance, and training.
- Coordinate lifting activities with project stakeholders to support project schedules and objectives.
- Liaise with equipment suppliers and manufacturers to ensure the availability of suitable lifting resources.
- Stay up to date with industry developments, regulations, and emerging lifting technologies.
