Position Summary

Green Hydrogen Element (GHE) Mechanical Technician role is a key member of the O&M team for NGHC.

Responsible for the day-to-day mechanical maintenance of the hydrogen, Ammonia, ASU and Utilities plant. which includes predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance activities, including spares management.

The incumbent shall perform maintenance activities in accordance with company safety policies and site-specific procedures and maintenance plans.

Based in Neom, the position reports to Mechanical Supervisor GHE.

Nature & Scope

The main functions of this position are:

• SAFETY IS FIRST, nothing is more important than safety, be fully aligned with all EH&S standards to achieve the goal of zero (0) lost time injuries at GHE.
• Set up and operate lathes and other turning machines.
• Interpret technical drawings and specifications to produce parts accurately.
• Work with Plant Superintendent to ensure compliance to site statutory, mechanical integrity & preventative maintenance programs.
• Support in design and manufacturing of tooling fixtures required for maintenance and repairs.
• Conduct inspections using callipers, micrometres, and other measuring tools.
• Knowledge of quality control standards and inspection techniques.
• Candidates will be required to meet training requirements and successfully pass scheduled validation reviews.
• Actively participate in NGHC safety programs, promote, and enforce safety rules and good housekeeping methods.
• Build and maintain a good relationship with all customers and stakeholders to ensure close cooperation.
• Will be responsible of overall housekeeping in the workshop.
• Will be on call during certain periods of time.
• Assist in updating/creating maintenance procedures as required.
• KPIs follow up to ensure maintenance performance.
• Strong commitment to team building, integrity, and diversity.
• Contribute to maintaining site management systems, e.g. MOC, BPs, SWIMs, JSAs.
• Maintain an accurate inventory of all tools and equipment, including tracking usage and storage locations.
• Conduct regular audits of tools and equipment to ensure accuracy in inventory records.
• Issue tools and equipment to employees and ensure proper documentation of issuance and returns.
• Monitor and enforce policies regarding tool usage and care.
• Coordinate regular maintenance and repairs of tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
• Work with vendors and suppliers for the procurement of new tools and equipment as needed.
• Maintain detailed records of tool usage, maintenance schedules, and inventory changes.
• Prepare reports on tool usage and inventory status for management.
• Work closely with various departments to understand their tool needs and ensure availability.
• Schedule tools inspection and calibration of tools, maintain the record and certifications.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• The position is responsible for the safe and reliable maintenance of the GHE production facility following NGHC standards.
• Will develop and update maintenance procedures.

People Management

• Will act as a new operator's trainer and will supervise contractor through work permits.

Education & Experience

• High school diploma in a technical discipline and a minimum of 2 - 5 years of related plant mechanical maintenance experience in the industrial gas, chemical, refining and or related industry.
• Minimum 2 years experience in similar job role.
• Minimum 0 years of managerial experience.

Skills / Technical Knowledge Areas

• Mechanical degree or equivalent with maintenance experience.
• Strong hands-on experience on Lathe and Other turning machines, Turning Shafts, Keyways, Boring Couplings, Manufacturing tools for repairs.
• Familiarity with precision measuring equipment, reading technical drawings and understand maintenance manuals.
• Completion of recognized mechanical apprenticeship or validated skills in this field.
• Knowledge of industry safety regulations and operating practices.
• Good interpersonal & team working skills.
• A full driving license.
• Must be willing to be on call.
• Ability to set priorities.
• Good command of written and spoken English.
• Proactive, honest, teamwork and hard working.
• Be enthusiastic, Positive Attitude, Self-Motivated and willing to learn.
• Hydrogen production experience is a plus.
