Job Title: Medical Records Clerk

Department: Health Information Management / Medical Records

Reports To: Medical Records Supervisor

Job Summary

The Medical Records Clerk is responsible for maintaining accurate and confidential patient medical records while supporting the efficient management of health information. The role helps ensure medical records are properly created, filed, retrieved, and maintained in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Create, organize, file, and maintain patient medical records in physical and electronic record systems
• Verify the accuracy and completeness of patient information and ensure timely updating of medical records
• Assist with medical record archiving, document scanning, and record retention processes

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Medical Records, Healthcare Administration, or a related field
• 1-3 years of experience in medical records, health information management, or a related administrative role
• Healthcare or hospital experience is preferred
