Summary
Provides academic leadership in biomedical sciences through graduate-level teaching, research supervision, and the development of innovative research programs.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
- Develops, organizes, and delivers graduate-level teaching in assigned biomedical disciplines (e.g., molecular biology, genomics, immunology, biochemistry, bioinformatics).
- Designs and implements curricula aligned with international academic standards and Ministry of Education (MOE) requirements.
- Contributes to the development of interdisciplinary programs and strategic academic initiatives.
- Establishes and leads independent and collaborative research programs aligned with KFSHRC's research priorities.
- Secures competitive research funding and publishes in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals (minimum 2 publications per year in reputable journals as per AU policy).
- Collaborates with clinical, translational, and research teams across KFSHRC and Alfaisal University.
- Supervises and mentors PhD and MD-PhD students, ensuring high-quality academic and research outcomes.
- Participates in faculty development and fosters a collaborative academic environment.
- Mentors’ junior faculty and supports their professional development.
- Participates in academic governance, including departmental, school, and institutional committees.
- Contributes to accreditation processes, quality assurance, and program evaluation in alignment with MOE and NCAAA standards.
- Follows all Hospital’s related Policies and Procedures.
- Participates in self and others' education, training and development, as applicable.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Education
PhD (or equivalent terminal degree) in a relevant biomedical science discipline from an accredited institution or other related discipline is required.
Experience Required
Six (6) years of related experience post-doctoral degree is required.
