1. Job Purpose:

The Strategy Director is responsible for leading the development, execution, and continuous monitoring of the sports organization’s overarching strategic plan. This role bridges the gap between sporting excellence, commercial growth, and operational efficiency. The Director will align the organization's goals with local and global sports industry trends to ensure financial sustainability, expand the fan base, and elevate the organization's global/regional positioning.

2. Key Responsibilities:

A. Strategic Planning & Leadership:

• Lead the design, formulation, and continuous updating of the organization’s short, medium, and long-term strategic plans.
• Translate the overarching vision and goals into actionable business plans and strategic initiatives across all departments (Sporting, Commercial, Marketing, Finance).
• Work closely with the Sporting Director to ensure that the corporate strategy aligns with and supports on-field/sporting performance goals (First team, youth academies, and other sports).

B. Performance & Execution Management:

• Establish, track, and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and OKRs for all departments.
• Generate periodic strategic performance reports for the CEO and Board of Directors, providing actionable recommendations for course correction.
• Oversee the Project Management Office (PMO) to ensure that strategic initiatives and major projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.

C. Market Analysis & Sports Intelligence:

• Conduct continuous benchmarking against top-tier global sports clubs and organizations to identify best practices.
• Analyze global sports industry trends, including digital transformation in sports, fan engagement technologies, and evolving regulations (e.g., Financial Fair Play).
• Provide data-driven insights into fan behavior, market shifts, and new business opportunities.

D. Commercial Development & Partnerships:

• Collaborate with the Commercial and Marketing departments to identify and unlock new revenue streams (e.g., broadcasting rights, sponsorships, ticketing, hospitality, retail, and international tours).
• Evaluate the feasibility and Return on Investment (ROI) of new sporting, infrastructural, or commercial projects.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key external stakeholders (Ministries of Sport, Leagues, Federations, Sponsors, and Investors).

E. Change Management & Corporate Development:

• Champion organizational change management to foster a culture of strategic thinking, innovation, and high performance.
• Identify and assess strategic risks (financial, legal, and sporting) and develop proactive mitigation strategies.

3. Qualifications & Experience:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sports Management, Economics, or Industrial Engineering. An MBA or a Master’s degree in Sports Management is highly preferred.
• Experience:
• 8 to 12 years of professional experience in corporate strategy, strategic planning, or management consulting.
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years in a strategic leadership role, strictly within the sports industry, sports entertainment, or top-tier consulting firms (e.g., Big 4, MBB) focusing on sports sector projects.
