We are currently supporting a major Jeddah-based infrastructure developer to clean up their internal reporting systems and ensure that field data reaches their headquarters without manual intervention or errors.
About the role
The Junior AI Automation Developer will work on the ground truth of how data moves between systems. This is not a role for high-level strategy or building theoretical models. Instead, you will be looking at specific routing rules and automation triggers that manage site reports and logistics for a major Jeddah-based infrastructure developer. You will focus on the broken components of an automation pipeline: such as a failed data sync or an AI prompt that provides inconsistent results. This is a fully remote position that requires a person who is comfortable reading logs to find the exact moment an automated process failed.
What you will be doing - Review system logs to identify why specific data packets failed to move from the field to the central database.
- Write and maintain basic Python scripts to automate the cleaning and formatting of incoming technical reports.
- Test and refine prompts for AI tools used to categorize and summarize daily construction logs.
- Reconcile data between various spreadsheets and the central source of truth to identify missing entries.
- Update internal documentation and SOPs so that client operators understand how to run the automations we build.
- Build simple API connections between project management tools and internal databases.
- Participate in technical reviews to ensure our automation logic is simple and easy to maintain.
- Verify that automated routing rules are sending the correct notifications to the right project managers.
What we need from you - Basic proficiency in Python through university projects, internships, or personal coding work.
- A clear and direct writing style for documenting technical problems and their solutions.
- The ability to look at a complex system and trace a problem back to a specific line of code or logic error.
- Familiarity with how data structures like JSON or CSV are handled in technical workflows.
- A preference for fixing a specific operational problem over discussing broad frameworks.
- Strong communication skills for collaborating in a fully remote environment.
- Willingness to learn how large scale infrastructure projects manage their supply chains and site operations.
Helpful background - Previous experience with automation tools like Zapier, Make, or similar platforms.
- Understanding of basic SQL queries for checking data within a database.
- Experience in a remote work or remote learning setting where clear documentation was required.
- An interest in the logistics of engineering or large scale construction projects.
