Job Purpose:

To design individualized speech and communication plans for each child based on their specific needs, with a primary focus on improving speech and pronunciation skills.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

• Conducts preliminary assessments based on the center's evaluation model in close cooperation with the rest of the team.

• Maintains accurate and integrated records for each child, including initial assessments, progress evaluations, and final outcomes.

• Prepares reports on children’s progress and activities as required by the center’s policies and regulations.

• Consults with parents and collaborates with the center’s team to address behavioral problems, discuss individual needs, and monitor developmental progress.

• Contributes to the development of overall treatment plans and weekly status updates, as well as personalized plans for each child, in close cooperation with team members and families.

• Identifies communication issues related to language and speech development.

• Manages patients suffering from specific vocal disorders and provides therapeutic interventions.

• Provides tailored speech therapy sessions based on each child’s individual needs.

• Offers counseling to patients and their families, guiding them on how to manage communication disorders effectively.

• Attends relevant meetings, contributing ideas to improve the efficiency, productivity, and overall satisfaction of the services provided.

• Writes and maintains confidential client case notes and reports, ensuring clear communication with clients, caregivers, and other professionals.

• Manages a caseload of patients, prioritizing cases, tracking waiting lists, ensuring successful outcomes, and overseeing referral and discharge processes.

• Provides support and supervision to newly qualified speech and language therapists and assistants, ensuring they are properly guided and mentored.

• Other duties as assigned within the scope of the job. 

Experience:

• 1 year of experience working as a Speech & Communication Specialist, preferably in a pediatric or special needs setting.

Education:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, or related field.

Language:

• Excellent command of oral and written English and Arabic.

Licenses / Certifications:

• License as per the regional health authority.
