Batterjee Medical College is seeking a qualified and highly motivated ER Clinic Nurse to provide nursing and emergency response services within the College clinic.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering safe and high-quality nursing care, responding promptly to medical emergencies across the campus, assisting the ER Clinic Doctor, maintaining emergency equipment and medical supplies, and ensuring accurate clinical documentation and infection control practices.
Key Responsibilities
Emergency & Clinical Nursing Care
- Provide high-quality nursing care and immediate assistance in emergency and urgent medical situations.
- Respond rapidly to medical emergencies occurring across the College campus, including cases of unconsciousness or other conditions requiring immediate intervention.
- Assess and monitor patients, including measuring and recording vital signs.
- Provide first-line emergency nursing support and assist in stabilizing patients until further medical care or transfer is arranged.
- Administer intramuscular (IM) and intravenous (IV) medications/injections as ordered by the physician and within the authorized scope of practice.
- Perform ECG procedures when requested by the ER Clinic Doctor.
- Assist the physician during examinations, treatments, and emergency procedures.
- Assist during the physical examination of female patients when required.
- Provide reassurance, guidance, and appropriate support to patients and students attending the clinic.
Emergency Equipment & Clinic Readiness
- Ensure emergency and clinical equipment is clean, functional, properly maintained, and ready for immediate use.
- Regularly check the AED/defibrillator, ECG equipment, and other emergency devices according to established procedures.
- Monitor medication and medical supply expiration dates and conduct routine monthly checks.
- Ensure adequate availability of medications, medical materials, consumables, and disposable supplies.
- Ensure instruments and equipment are appropriately disinfected or sterilized before procedures and treatments.
- Maintain the clinic in a state of readiness to respond effectively to emergencies.
Infection Prevention & Patient Safety
- Maintain high standards of infection prevention and control.
- Clean and disinfect clinical areas and equipment between patients according to established protocols.
- Follow occupational health, safety, infection control, and emergency response procedures.
- Ensure safe handling and disposal of medical and clinical waste.
Clinical Documentation & Administrative Support
- Maintain accurate patient and clinic records, including patient identification, admission and discharge times, treatments, and other required information.
- Maintain confidentiality of all patient and medical information.
- Assist with reception and administrative duties related to clinic operations when required.
- Prepare and maintain required clinical records, logs, reports, and documentation accurately and confidentially.
Collaboration & Professional Responsibilities
- Work closely with the ER Clinic Doctor and relevant departments to ensure effective patient care and emergency response.
- Provide appropriate assistance and guidance to students, employees, and visitors requiring medical attention.
- Participate in meetings, emergency preparedness activities, drills, and relevant training programs.
- Maintain a professional and service-oriented approach when interacting with patients, students, employees, and visitors.
- Perform other related duties as assigned within the scope of the position
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or equivalent recognized nursing qualification.
- Valid professional classification and registration with the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS).
- Valid BLS certification is required.
- Additional emergency-care certifications such as ACLS are preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience.
- Previous experience in an Emergency Department, ER clinic, urgent care, outpatient clinic, or similar healthcare setting is highly preferred.
- Experience responding to medical emergencies and providing immediate nursing interventions is desirable.
