Job Purpose:
The Payroll Head is responsible for overseeing the end-to-end payroll function within the Finance department, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant processing of employee compensation across the organization. This role leads the payroll team, manages payroll systems, and ensures full compliance with Saudi labor law, GOSI regulations, and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the accurate and timely processing of monthly payroll for all employees, including salaries, bonuses, overtime, and deductions.
- Ensure full compliance with GOSI, WPS (Wage Protection System - Mudad), Saudi Labor Law, and Zakat/tax authority (ZATCA) requirements where applicable.
- Manage end-of-service benefits (EOSB), final settlements, and leave encashment calculations in line with Saudi labor law.
- Supervise and mentor the payroll team, ensuring high standards of accuracy and confidentiality.
- Reconcile payroll accounts with Finance and ensure alignment with the general ledger and monthly closing.
- Maintain and update payroll systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Bayzat, or other HRIS/payroll platforms) to ensure data accuracy and efficiency.
- Prepare payroll cost reports, budget forecasts, and variance analysis for senior Finance management.
- Coordinate with HR on new hires, terminations, promotions, and salary adjustments to ensure payroll accuracy (without being organizationally part of HR).
- Handle employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Stay updated on changes in GOSI, tax laws, and labor regulations affecting payroll and ensure system/process updates accordingly.
- Lead internal and external payroll audits, ensuring proper documentation, controls, and segregation of duties.
- Drive automation and process improvement initiatives to enhance payroll efficiency and reduce errors.
- Ensure payroll data integrity and support Finance in cost center allocation and reporting.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in payroll management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role (Finance-based payroll preferred).
- Strong knowledge of Saudi Labor Law, GOSI regulations, WPS/Mudad system, and Zakat/tax requirements.
- Proficiency in payroll software/ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Bayzat, etc.).
- Strong financial acumen with ability to reconcile payroll to the general ledger.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and leadership skills.
- High attention to detail and strong commitment to confidentiality.
- Fluency in Arabic and English.
