Job Purpose

The IT Infrastructure Lead is responsible for the hands-on design, operation, troubleshooting, and optimization of the organization’s IT infrastructure, including on-premises data centers, private cloud platforms, and Microsoft Azure (IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS).

The position ensures high availability, secure operations, rapid incident resolution, and compliance with ISO/IEC 27001, NCA ECC, and Aramco Cybersecurity Compliance (CCC). The IT Infrastructure Lead acts as the primary technical authority and escalation point for all infrastructure-related matters.

Key Responsibilities

1. Data Center, Virtualization & Private Cloud

• Perform hands-on operation and maintenance of enterprise data center infrastructure to ensure availability and resilience.
• Configure, administer, and troubleshoot VMware and Nutanix HCI platforms, including cluster health, performance tuning, and capacity optimization.
• Resolve complex compute, storage, and virtualization issues and conduct detailed root-cause analysis.
• Execute backup, recovery, and failover readiness for infrastructure workloads.
• Maintain accurate technical architecture diagrams and infrastructure documentation.

2. Microsoft Azure Cloud Administration (IaaS, PaaS & SaaS)

Azure IaaS

• Administer Azure virtual machines, storage, networking, and hybrid connectivity (VPN / ExpressRoute).
• Operate and troubleshoot Azure IaaS workloads to ensure availability, performance, and recoverability.

Azure PaaS

• Operate and support Azure PaaS services, ensuring secure configuration and service continuity.
• Troubleshoot service degradation and coordinate technical remediation with application and security teams.

Azure SaaS

• Administer Microsoft SaaS platforms including Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD).
• Configure secure access, identity integration, and operational controls across SaaS platforms.

3. Network & Security Infrastructure

• Configure, operate, and troubleshoot enterprise networking and security platforms, including firewalls, NAC, wireless infrastructure, and centralized logging.
• Implement and maintain firewall policies, VPN access, segmentation, and secure routing.
• Resolve complex network, WAN, VPN, wireless, and hybrid connectivity issues.
• Support cybersecurity teams during investigations and containment activities.

4. IT Operations & Service Management

• Act as the technical escalation point for infrastructure incidents and service requests.
• Perform hands-on diagnosis and resolution of major service disruptions.
• Execute and validate standard, non-standard, and emergency infrastructure changes.
• Identify recurring technical issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.

5. Endpoint, Email & Security Platform Operations

• Operate endpoint management, patching, and configuration compliance platforms.
• Monitor endpoint and email security tools to ensure continuous protection.
• Investigate repeated endpoint or security alerts and apply long-term hardening measures.
• Support security awareness initiatives from an operational and technical perspective.

6. Monitoring, Performance & Optimization

• Maintain observability across on-prem, private cloud, and Azure environments.
• Analyze performance, availability, and capacity trends.
• Perform tuning and optimization to improve stability, scalability, and user experience.
• Proactively identify technical risks and remediation opportunities.

7. Governance, Compliance & Audit Support

• Implement and maintain infrastructure configurations aligned with ISO/IEC 27001, NCA ECC, and Aramco CCC controls.
• Maintain logs, access records, and operational evidence required for audits.
• Resolve technical gaps identified during internal or external assessments.

8. Vendor & Lifecycle Coordination

• Provide technical coordination with vendors and service providers for infrastructure and cloud platforms.
• Support upgrades, renewals, and lifecycle planning from a technical standpoint.
• Validate vendor changes and implementations against technical and security standards.

Qualifications Education

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field.

Experience

• 6-10 years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure and cloud operations.
• Strong background in data center, virtualization, networking, and hybrid cloud environments.
