Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Junior Structural Engineer to support the structural engineering team in the design, coordination, and documentation of building projects. The successful candidate will assist in preparing structural calculations, drawings, and technical documentation while ensuring compliance with project specifications, engineering standards, and applicable codes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing structural calculations, technical reports, drawings, and design documentation.
- Support the structural design of buildings and other structures under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Review structural drawings and ensure coordination with architectural and MEP disciplines.
- Assist in analyzing structural elements and verifying compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project requirements.
- Support the preparation and review of shop drawings and material submittals.
- Assist in reviewing tender and IFC drawings and identifying design discrepancies.
- Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, consultants, and project teams to resolve design-related issues.
- Assist in preparing material take-offs and quantity estimates for structural works.
- Participate in site visits to monitor construction activities and verify compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
- Support the preparation of technical packages and engineering documentation.
- Assist in reviewing technical submittals from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Maintain accurate project records and engineering documentation.
- Support the implementation of HSE initiatives and comply with company safety policies and IMS requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
- 0-3 years of experience in structural engineering (internship experience is a plus).
- Basic knowledge of structural analysis and reinforced concrete and steel design principles.
- Familiarity with international design codes and engineering standards.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, STAAD.Pro, or Revit Structure is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- ERP knowledge (preferably SAP) is an advantage.
- GCC experience is not required but will be considered an advantage.
- Strong communication skills and willingness to learn in a fast-paced engineering environment.
