About the Role

The Building Management System (BMS) Operator is responsible for monitoring, operating, and maintaining the Building Management System to ensure the efficient performance of building services, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire alarm, and other integrated systems.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the Building Management System (BMS) on a continuous basis to ensure all building systems operate efficiently.
• Respond promptly to system alarms, faults, and abnormal operating conditions.
• Monitor HVAC, electrical, lighting, plumbing, fire alarm, and other integrated building systems through the BMS platform.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams to troubleshoot and resolve system issues.
• Perform routine system checks and report equipment abnormalities.
• Generate daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports from the BMS.
• Record alarms, incidents, maintenance activities, and corrective actions.
• Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
• Monitor energy consumption and recommend opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and operational procedures.
• Escalate critical issues to the Facilities Management team when necessary.
• Maintain accurate system logs and operational documentation.
• Assist during emergency situations by monitoring and controlling building systems as required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, Building Services, Facilities Management, or a related field.

Required Skills

• Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS).
• Understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
• Ability to interpret system alarms, trends, and technical data.
• Basic troubleshooting and fault diagnosis skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work rotating shifts when required.
• Knowledge of health, safety, and facility management standards.

Preferred Skills

• 2-4 years of experience operating Building Management Systems (BMS).
• Experience with BMS platforms such as Honeywell, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Johnson Controls (Metasys), Tridium Niagara, or equivalent is preferred.
