Job Title: Cashier

Department: Finance / Patient Financial Services

Reports To: Finance Manager

Job Summary

The Cashier is responsible for processing patient payments, issuing receipts, and supporting financial transactions within the hospital. The role helps ensure accurate cash handling, proper documentation of payments, and excellent customer service for patients and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive and process payments from patients and visitors for medical services, consultations, procedures, and other hospital charges
• Issue receipts and maintain accurate records of all financial transactions
• Balance cash collections and prepare daily cash reconciliation reports in accordance with hospital policies and procedures
• Coordinate with billing, admissions, and insurance teams to verify charges and payment information when required
• Provide professional customer service and assist patients with payment-related inquiries

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in cashiering, customer service, finance, retail, or a related field
• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
• Experience in a healthcare or hospital environment is preferred
• Basic knowledge of cash handling, financial transactions, and point-of-sale systems is preferred
