Role Description The Senior Technician role is a full-time, remote position responsible for providing advanced technical support to mining operations, projects, and maintenance activities. This role involves diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues, performing detailed inspections and testing of equipment and systems, and coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance tasks to ensure safety, efficiency, and reliability. The Senior Technician will collaborate with engineering and operations teams, document technical findings, and recommend improvements to processes, standards, and equipment performance. Responsibilities include preparing technical reports, following safety and regulatory requirements, supporting the implementation of new technologies, and mentoring less experienced technicians. The role requires proactive problem-solving, accurate execution of work instructions, and consistent communication with stakeholders across sites and functions.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong technical troubleshooting and diagnostic skills related to industrial, mining, or heavy equipment systems.
• Candidates should possess practical skills in equipment inspection, preventive and corrective maintenance, and reliability-focused repair methods.
• Candidates should possess skills in reading and interpreting technical drawings, manuals, and specifications, and in preparing clear technical documentation and reports.
• Candidates should possess skills in applying safety standards, risk assessment, and compliance with relevant industrial regulations and procedures.
• Candidates should possess skills in using digital tools and software for maintenance management, data logging, and remote collaboration.
• Relevant technical diploma or degree in mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, or mining-related disciplines is preferred.
• Experience in large-scale industrial or mining operations, especially in a senior or lead technician capacity, is beneficial.
• Strong communication skills, ability to work independently in a remote setting, and capacity to mentor and support junior team members are valued.
