Role Description The Assistant Accountant will support the finance team with day-to-day accounting activities in a full-time, on-site role based in Dammam. Key responsibilities include recording financial transactions, maintaining ledgers, assisting with accounts payable and receivable, and preparing basic financial reports. The role involves reconciling bank statements, supporting month-end and year-end closing processes, and helping ensure compliance with internal policies and relevant accounting standards. The Assistant Accountant will also assist with invoice processing, expense tracking, and documentation required for audits. Collaboration with project teams, procurement, and management will be needed to ensure accurate cost allocation and timely financial information.
Qualifications
- Strong foundational accounting skills, including journal entries, ledger maintenance, and basic financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel (spreadsheets, formulas, and data analysis).
- Attention to detail, accuracy in data entry, and ability to reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Good organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Understanding of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash handling procedures.
- Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Experience in construction or contracting industry finance is an advantage.
