Power BI Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer and maintain the organization's Power BI environment, ensuring high availability, reliability, scalability, and security.

• Manage Power BI Report Server, datasets, data sources, gateways, report deployments, and scheduled refresh processes.

• Configure and manage workspaces, user roles, permissions, and access controls using enterprise security standards.

• Monitor platform health, system performance, capacity utilization, and user adoption across Power BI environments.

• Perform platform maintenance activities, including upgrades, patching, backup, and disaster recovery processes.

• Implement governance standards, naming conventions, and lifecycle management practices for reports, dashboards, and workspaces.

• Configure and maintain Row-Level Security (RLS) and other access control mechanisms to ensure appropriate data visibility.

• Ensure compliance with organizational data governance, security, and regulatory requirements.

• Collaborate closely with IT Operations, Infrastructure, and Information Security teams to maintain a secure and compliant analytics platform.

• Automate administrative tasks, dataset refreshes, monitoring activities, and deployment processes.

• Provide expert-level troubleshooting and support for Power BI platform issues and incidents.

• Deliver training and guidance to report developers, analysts, and business users.

• Develop administrative dashboards to monitor platform usage, performance metrics, and licensing utilization.

• Continuously monitor gateway performance and ensure reliable connectivity between data sources and reporting environments.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field.

• 4-5 years of experience in Power BI Administration, Business Intelligence Platforms, Analytics Infrastructure, or related areas.

• Strong hands-on experience with Power BI Administration and Power BI Architecture.

• Advanced knowledge of SQL, DAX, and Power Query (M Query).

• Experience managing Power BI Report Server, Gateways, Workspaces, Capacity, and Security configurations.

• Strong understanding of Access Controls, Row-Level Security (RLS), and enterprise data governance principles.

• Experience with platform monitoring, troubleshooting, backup, disaster recovery, and performance optimization.

• Knowledge of cloud and on-premises Power BI environments.

• Familiarity with AI-enabled analytics capabilities within the Microsoft ecosystem is considered an advantage.

• Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder support skills.

Preferred Language Level:

• Professional working proficiency in English (written and verbal).
