Job Summary
We are looking for a Surveyor Helper to support the surveying team in carrying out field survey activities for civil works and infrastructure networks. The successful candidate will work under the direct supervision of the Land Surveyor and assist with site measurements, setting-out activities, level checks, and the preparation and handling of surveying equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Land Surveyor with field surveys, setting-out, leveling, and measurement activities.
- Prepare, carry, set up, and maintain surveying equipment and tools.
- Hold and position survey rods, prisms, ranging poles, and other survey accessories as directed.
- Assist in marking survey points, reference points, benchmarks, alignments, and elevations.
- Support setting-out activities for excavation works, pipelines, utilities, manholes, roads, and other civil works.
- Assist in checking levels, slopes, coordinates, and alignments against approved shop drawings.
- Place and maintain stakes, pegs, markers, and survey control points at the worksite.
- Record field measurements and survey readings accurately under the Surveyor’s supervision.
- Protect survey points, benchmarks, and instruments from damage or disturbance.
- Keep surveying equipment clean, organized, and ready for use.
- Coordinate with site engineers, foremen, and construction teams as instructed by the Surveyor.
- Follow all project safety procedures and wear the required personal protective equipment.
- Perform other survey-related support duties assigned by the Land Surveyor or Site Engineer.
Requirements
- Basic education or relevant vocational training.
- Minimum 6 years of experience supporting surveying activities, preferably in construction or infrastructure projects.
- Previous experience in civil works, roads, drainage, utilities, or underground networks is preferred.
- Basic familiarity with surveying instruments such as Total Station, Auto Level, GPS, and leveling staff.
- Ability to understand basic survey markings, levels, and site instructions.
- Physically fit and able to work outdoors for extended periods.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a site team.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Strong awareness of construction site safety requirements.
