Change & Release Manager

Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Change & Release Manager with strong experience in the banking domain to manage and coordinate IT changes, application releases, deployments, and production implementation activities.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in IT Change Management, Release Management, CAB processes, deployment coordination, risk assessment, and production governance, preferably within a banking or financial services environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end Change Management and Release Management lifecycle across IT applications and infrastructure.
• Plan, coordinate, and monitor application releases and production deployments.
• Ensure all changes follow approved Change Management, Release Management, and ITIL processes.
• Coordinate with application, infrastructure, security, database, testing, business, and operations teams for successful releases.
• Organize and facilitate Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings.
• Review change requests for impact, risk, dependencies, implementation plans, and rollback plans.
• Maintain and manage the Release Calendar, ensuring conflicts and dependencies are identified and resolved.
• Coordinate deployment activities across development, testing, UAT, pre-production, and production environments.
• Track release readiness, approvals, testing status, implementation activities, and post-release validation.
• Ensure appropriate rollback/backout plans are available for production changes.
• Monitor emergency and standard changes and ensure appropriate approvals are obtained.
• Prepare regular change and release status reports, dashboards, and management updates.
• Ensure production changes are implemented within agreed schedules and minimize business disruption.
• Coordinate post-implementation reviews and track lessons learned and improvement actions.
• Identify release risks, dependencies, and potential conflicts and escalate them appropriately.
• Ensure proper documentation and audit trails are maintained for all changes and releases.
• Support continuous improvement of Change and Release Management processes in line with ITIL best practices.
• Work closely with business and technology stakeholders to ensure smooth and controlled production implementations.

Mandatory Requirements

• 4-8 years of overall IT experience, with relevant experience in Change and Release Management.
• Banking / Financial Services domain experience is mandatory.
• Strong hands-on experience in Change Management and Release Management.
• Experience managing production releases and coordinating multiple technology teams.
• Good understanding of ITIL / IT Service Management processes.
• Experience with CAB, change approvals, risk assessment, release planning, deployment coordination, and rollback management.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience working in large-scale banking/enterprise IT environments.
• Good understanding of SDLC, testing, UAT, production deployment, and incident/problem management processes.
• Strong documentation, reporting, coordination, and organizational skills.
