Project Overview
The Ar Rjum Project comprises a green field gold project with three open pit mining operations with associated waste dumps and ore stockpile, a processing plant, tailings management facilities, and supporting infrastructure including water supply, power supply, maintenance facilities, offices, temporary and permanent accommodation village.
The Project is situated within the Central Arabian Gold Region, approximately 200 km north-east of Taif towards Riyadh and about 26 km South of Al Mouwayh, which is a small town situated on the Jeddah - Riyadh highway.
Job Summary
The Civil/Concrete Construction Supervisor will be responsible for working closely with the main contractor supervising, planning and execution on all aspects of civil work performed by Bechtel EPCM on the Ar-Rjum Gold Project.
Major Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all civil and concrete construction activities within the Plant area, ensuring work is executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements.
- Plan, direct, and monitor contractor activities to ensure compliance with project schedules, engineering deliverables, construction priorities, and contractual obligations.
- Coordinate closely with Engineering, Procurement, Quality, HSE, Field Engineering, and Construction teams to resolve technical and construction-related issues and maintain workfront availability.
- Review workforce, equipment, and material requirements to ensure adequate resources are available to achieve project milestones and productivity targets.
- Coordinate with the contractor and administer the project through planning, engineering, procurement, and construction.
- Ensure all civil works, including excavation, foundations, concrete placement, structural concrete, grouting, underground services, roads, paving, and associated infrastructure, are executed in accordance with IFC drawings, specifications, applicable codes, and project procedures.
- Coordinates established area operational plans. Monitor work to be performed and reviews work accomplished by each craft.
- Monitors work activities and ensure the quality of work is performed.
- Ensures the most current design document is used to complete the work and that all design changes are approved prior to implementation.
- Monitor and control contractual commitments to ensure all work is performed in accordance with the specifications, drawings, and terms of the contract and that change orders are processed in a timely manner.
- Monitor and report construction progress, productivity, constraints, risks, and resource requirements to the Construction Management team.
- Resolve problems and assist the Superintendent with the final civil turnover of project to the customer.
- Provide leadership for the development and maintenance of a high-performance civil project team.
- Responsible for civil project execution, ensure that the project is delivered within contract requirements, standards of quality and safety, and to the customer and Bechtel performance expectations.
- Attend project and customer meetings to promote and facilitate communication, review progress/performance, discuss issues and facilitate problem resolution.
Education And Experience Requirements
Civil Engineering Degree and a minimum of 10 years’ work experience.
Required Knowledge And Skills
- Previous experience in Saudi Arabia and GCC.
- Knowledge of industry, technology, and EPC civil construction practices
- Knowledge and experience in project execution, plan development, and implementation.
- Software applications experience, Aconex, Navisworks, Unifier and Teamwork’s.
- Strong "Zero Accident" ES&H experience.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills.
