Job Summary
The HSE Director is responsible for leading the Health, Safety, and Environmental strategy across large-scale 5-star hotel construction projects. The role ensures full compliance with local regulations, international HSE standards, and client requirements while promoting a strong safety culture throughout all project phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement project-wide HSE policies, procedures, and management systems.
- Lead HSE teams across multiple luxury hotel construction projects.
- Ensure compliance with Saudi regulations, ISO 45001, ISO 14001, OSHA, and client HSE standards.
- Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
- Establish emergency response and crisis management plans.
- Monitor HSE performance through KPIs and recommend continuous improvements.
- Coordinate with project directors, consultants, clients, and regulatory authorities on HSE matters.
- Deliver HSE training, awareness campaigns, and behavioral safety programs.
- Ensure subcontractors comply with all HSE requirements and contractual obligations.
- Prepare executive HSE reports for senior management and clients.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or related discipline.
- NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ Level 6/7 in Occupational Health & Safety.
- Professional certifications such as GradIOSH/CMIOSH, CSP, or CRSP are preferred.
- 18-20+ years of HSE experience in major EPC or construction companies.
- Minimum 10 years in a senior HSE leadership role managing large hospitality or mega construction projects.
- Proven experience delivering 5-star hotel, mixed-use, or luxury hospitality developments.
- Strong knowledge of Saudi regulations, international HSE standards, and ISO management systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with projects valued above SAR 1 billion.
- Previous work with leading international contractors or developers.
- Strong client-facing experience with luxury hospitality developments such as Four Seasons, Ritz-Carlton, Marriott, Hilton, Fairmont, or similar high-end hotel projects.
