About The Role
A multidisciplinary EPC contractor with an active portfolio across the water and infrastructure sectors in Saudi Arabia is seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead its central design function. This is a permanent, head-office role supporting the wider project portfolio rather than a single site assignment, with involvement in both live projects and bid work.
Key Responsibilities
Manages a multidisciplinary design team day to day, allocating work across the team. Manages the design process across the company's projects and all design consultants, coordinating with every project-involved party. Develops and manages scope of services for the internal design team and involved consultants. Monitors and manages the design schedule. Reviews consultant deliverables for compliance with the project brief and client standards. Chairs key design and project meetings and oversees consultants' activities. Leads design change control, advises on methods of execution, and runs constructability reviews. Develops and implements the design management plan and the design responsibility matrix. Assists in developing the project quality plan and statutory approval flow chart, and in preparing technical documentation for construction tender packages.
Requirements
- Minimum 18-20+ years' experience on large-scale EPC projects in a design manager role
- Proven water-sector EPC design experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Master's preferred
- Proven ability to lead a multidisciplinary design team, with capability overseeing both ongoing and tender-stage projects
- Native Arabic speaker, English fluent to native
