Accounts Manager

Position: Accounts Manager

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Accounts Manager to manage and oversee the accounting and financial operations of major building construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for financial reporting, project accounting, cash flow management, budgeting, accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience working with a Tier 1 main contractor and a proven track record in managing accounting functions within large-scale construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the day-to-day accounting operations for the project/company.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statements.
• Monitor project expenditures, revenues, accruals, commitments, and financial transactions.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and reconciliations.
• Monitor project cash flow and prepare regular cash flow forecasts.
• Coordinate with Commercial, Cost Control, Procurement, Contracts, and Project Management teams.
• Review subcontractor and supplier invoices and ensure proper supporting documentation and approvals.
• Monitor project budgets and expenditure against approved financial plans.
• Ensure accurate recording and allocation of project costs.
• Support the preparation of project budgets, forecasts, and financial projections.
• Manage month-end and year-end closing activities.
• Ensure timely submission of financial reports to senior management.
• Monitor outstanding receivables, payables, advances, and other financial balances.
• Support internal and external audits and provide required financial documentation.
• Ensure compliance with company accounting policies, financial procedures, and applicable Saudi regulations and VAT requirements.
• Lead, supervise, and develop the accounting team.
• Identify financial risks and implement appropriate controls and corrective actions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 15+ years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within the construction industry.
• Strong experience working with a Tier 1 main contractor is mandatory.
• Proven experience in large-scale building construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of project accounting, construction accounting, budgeting, cash flow, and financial reporting.
• Experience managing accounting teams and project financial operations.
• Strong knowledge of VAT, taxation, audit requirements, and accounting standards applicable in Saudi Arabia.
• Excellent proficiency in SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems.
• Advanced Excel skills with strong financial analysis capabilities.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and general accounting principles.
• Excellent leadership, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Saudi Arabia / GCC construction experience is highly preferred.
• Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, CMA, or SOCPA is preferred
