First Team Physiologist - Be Part of a Legacy Bigger Than the Game

Overview:

As a First Team Physiologist at Al-Qadsiah Club, you will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and enhancing the physical and physiological performance of players. By leveraging scientific methods and cutting-edge technologies, you will play a key role in optimizing fitness, accelerating recovery, and reducing injury risk-ultimately ensuring our athletes are performing at their peak.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collect, analyze, and interpret GPS, heart rate, and biometric data to monitor player workload and performance
• Develop tailored conditioning programs in line with tactical periodization and position-specific demands
• Design recovery protocols using cryotherapy, hydration, and other modalities; adjust based on readiness scores
• Conduct screenings and assessments to identify injury risks and implement corrective strategies
• Work closely with medical staff to support rehabilitation and return-to-play decisions
• Collaborate with other departments to align performance plans and ensure a unified approach
• Implement emerging technologies and stay up to date with the latest sports science research
• Ensure best practices in data privacy, reporting standards, and travel as needed with the team
• Maintain CPD standards and support the Head of Performance with additional duties as required

Qualifications:

Essential:

• Master’s Degree in Physiology, Sports Science or a related area

Desirable:

• PhD in Physiology, Sports Science, or related discipline
• Accreditation or registration with a recognized professional body

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

Essential:

• Proven experience as a physiologist, ideally in elite or professional sports
• Strong background in performance testing, movement screening, and conditioning program design
• Analytical mindset with experience interpreting complex datasets into actionable insights
• In-depth knowledge of athlete preparation, recovery, and gym/field training principles
• High attention to detail and commitment to session quality, data accuracy, and athlete safety
• Excellent communication skills in English

Desirable:

• Multilingual skills, particularly Spanish and Arabic
• Experience within a professional club in the Middle East
