Role Description The Data Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, responsible for overseeing the end-to-end lifecycle of data across Shwra’s AI platform and legal services products. This role manages data collection, ingestion, cleaning, standardization, and storage to ensure data is accurate, reliable, and ready for analytics, AI, and product features. The Data Manager will define and implement data governance policies, access controls, and data quality standards in alignment with legal, regulatory, and privacy requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating with product, engineering, AI/ML, legal, and operations teams to identify data needs, prioritize data initiatives, and support new feature development and reporting. The role also includes monitoring data pipelines and databases, troubleshooting issues, managing documentation, and driving continuous improvement in data processes, tools, and performance.
Qualifications
- Strong data management foundation, including experience with data modeling, data warehousing, ETL/ELT pipelines, and database technologies (SQL and at least one modern data platform or cloud environment).
- Proficiency in data quality and governance, including data validation, lineage tracking, metadata management, access control, and compliance with privacy and security standards.
- Analytical and technical skills, such as working with large datasets, using reporting/BI tools, basic data analysis or scripting (e.g., Python, R, or similar), and building dashboards or operational reports.
- Process and project management abilities, including requirements gathering, documentation, stakeholder coordination, prioritization of data initiatives, and delivering projects on schedule.
- Communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams (product, engineering, AI/ML, legal, operations) and translate business needs into clear data requirements.
- Relevant bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field; an advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., data management, cloud, or governance) are a plus.
