We are looking for a Linux Administrator L1/L2 to support the administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance of enterprise Linux environments.

Role Summary

The Linux Administrator L1/L2 will provide operational support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments, including system installation, configuration, troubleshooting, security, virtualization, storage, backup, and automation.

The role requires strong technical troubleshooting capabilities, the ability to resolve system issues, and hands-on experience with Linux services, VMware, Docker, Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift, LVM, RAID, and automation technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Linux System Administration

• Administer and support Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments.
• Perform Linux system installation, configuration, maintenance, and management.
• Monitor system health, availability, and performance.
• Perform routine system administration tasks and operational activities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve Linux system issues, escalating complex incidents when required.

Troubleshooting & Technical Support

• Diagnose and resolve complex Linux issues, including performance problems and hardware failures.
• Investigate system-related incidents and identify appropriate corrective actions.
• Support troubleshooting across operating systems, services, hardware, and infrastructure components.
• Escalate unresolved or complex issues to the appropriate technical teams.

Network & Directory Services

• Support and troubleshoot advanced Linux services including:
• DNS
• DHCP
• LDAP
• Assist with configuration and maintenance of Linux-based network and directory services.

Automation

• Create and maintain shell scripts for system administration and task automation.
• Develop and manage Ansible automation for repetitive operational tasks.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation.

Virtualization & Containerization

• Support Linux workloads running on VMware virtualization platforms.
• Assist with containerized environments using Docker.
• Support container orchestration environments using Kubernetes.
• Provide operational support for Red Hat OpenShift environments.

Storage Management

• Administer and troubleshoot Linux storage solutions.
• Manage Logical Volume Manager (LVM) configurations.
• Support RAID configurations and troubleshoot storage-related issues.
• Monitor and resolve storage capacity and availability issues.

Security & Compliance

• Apply Linux security best practices.
• Support firewall, encryption, and access control configurations.
• Assist with identifying and resolving security-related findings.
• Perform required systems tasks and close VA/CR findings within defined requirements.

Backup & Disaster Recovery

• Support Linux backup and disaster recovery solutions.
• Assist with backup operations and troubleshooting.
• Participate in recovery activities when required.

Documentation & Collaboration

• Maintain accurate technical documentation and system records.
• Document troubleshooting activities, resolutions, and operational procedures.
• Communicate effectively with technical teams during incidents and system activities.
• Support team collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Shift Support

• Work on assigned shifts to provide continuous operational support.
• Respond to system incidents and perform required administration tasks during assigned working hours.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

• Proficiency in Red Hat Enterprise Linux administration.
• In-depth knowledge of Linux system installation, configuration, and management.
• Strong troubleshooting skills, particularly for complex system and performance issues.
• Experience with DNS, DHCP, and LDAP services.
• Hands-on experience with Shell scripting and Ansible.
• Understanding of security practices including firewalls, encryption, and access control.
• Experience with VMware virtualization technology.
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and Red Hat OpenShift.
• Experience managing Linux storage using LVM and RAID.
• Experience with backup and disaster recovery solutions.
• Ability to perform system administration tasks and close VA/CR findings.
• Excellent communication and technical documentation skills.
• Willingness and ability to work on shifts.
