Summary:

The Senior QA/QC Engineer is responsible for leading and overseeing all Quality Assurance, Quality Control, inspection, testing, and calibration activities within the valve manufacturing process. The role ensures compliance with applicable quality management systems, customer specifications, API standards, ISO requirements, and industry regulations. The incumbent will drive continuous improvement initiatives, supervise inspection personnel, manage audits, analyze quality performance data, and maintain accurate quality records to ensure product conformity and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Management & Compliance

• Maintain, implement, and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001, API Spec Q1, and applicable customer requirements.
• Ensure compliance with API product standards, ASME codes, company procedures, and industry best practices.
• Act as a focal point for quality-related matters and support external audits, customer inspections, and certification assessments.
• Ensure adherence to quality system procedures and API product requirements across all manufacturing processes.

Inspection, Testing & Calibration

• Lead and supervise all receiving, in-process, and final inspection activities.
• Plan and allocate inspection resources, personnel, and schedules to meet production requirements.
• Establish, review, and enhance Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), quality control instructions, and quality procedures.
• Oversee the control, maintenance, verification, and calibration of inspection gauges, measuring instruments, and testing equipment.
• Ensure calibration records and inspection documentation are maintained in accordance with ISO and company requirements.

Audit & Continuous Improvement

• Develop and maintain internal quality audit schedules.
• Conduct internal audits and support customer and third-party audits.
• Prepare audit reports, monitor corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and ensure effective closure of audit findings.
• Analyze quality data, identify trends, and recommend improvement actions to enhance product quality and process efficiency.
• Coordinate with the Management Representative (MR) to implement preventive and corrective actions.

Cross-Functional Coordination

• Collaborate closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Production Planning, Commercial, and Procurement departments to define inspection requirements.
• Review customer specifications, contract requirements, quality plans, and applicable standards to ensure compliance throughout production.
• Support customer complaints investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.

Team Leadership

• Lead and mentor QA/QC inspectors and quality personnel.
• Establish SMART objectives for the inspection team and monitor performance against established targets.
• Promote a quality-focused culture and continuous improvement within the organization.

Technical Requirements

• Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems, including:
• ISO 9001 (Latest Edition)
• API Spec Q1 (Latest Edition)
• Thorough understanding of quality requirements related to valve manufacturing and oil & gas applications.
• Sound knowledge of API product standards, ASME codes, and other relevant industry standards.
• Experience in inspection, testing, calibration, and quality assurance methodologies.
• Knowledge of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) techniques, including:
• Dye Penetrant Testing (DPT/PT)
• Magnetic Particle Testing (MPT/MT)
• Radiographic Film Interpretation (RTFI)

Preferred Certifications

• ISO 9001 Lead Auditor Certification (Latest Edition).
• API Q1 Lead Auditor Certification.
• ASNT SNT-TC-1A Level II or ASNT CP-189 Level II certification in applicable NDT methods.
• Internal Auditor Certification.
• Calibration Certification.
• API Product Certifications (API 6D, API 600, API 602, API 607, API 608, API 609, API 598, etc.) are an added advantage.

Qualifications & Experience

Option 1

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, with:

• Minimum 10 years of experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and Inspection.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in valve manufacturing for Oil & Gas applications.

Option 2

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, with:

• Minimum 13 years of experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and Inspection.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in valve manufacturing for Oil & Gas applications.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with a reputable valve manufacturing company.
• Experience working on projects for Saudi Aramco or other major oil & gas operators.
• Proven track record in managing customer inspections, audits, and quality compliance requirements.
