Storekeeper

Job Summary

Under supervision, perform a variety of shipping, receiving, and stocking activities; store and distribute supplies and equipment; maintain inventory and stock records; and perform related work as required.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Maintain plant inventory and supplies, including ordering, receiving, and allocation.
2. Prepare annual requisitions, orders, reports, and correspondence.
3. Receive and inspect all incoming materials and reconcile them against purchase orders. Process and distribute related documentation and report, document, and track any damage or discrepancies in received orders.
4. Record daily incoming and outgoing plant stock.
5. Report cancelled and damaged items to the Purchasing Department as appropriate.
6. Handle and document the storage and transportation of hazardous materials.
7. Ensure proper identification, segregation, and preservation of stored materials.
8. Maintain the warehouse, records area, and storage areas in a neat and orderly condition.
9. Ensure proper segregation of waste for disposal.
10. Inform relevant personnel of material arrivals and arrange for inspection.
11. Respond to queries regarding procedures and resolve discrepancies related to receipts, deliveries, warranties, repairs, and surplus property.
12. Arrange the return of non-conforming materials.
13. Issue materials as required and maintain appropriate records.
14. Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Specifications

Educational

Desired

• Diploma in a related field.

Preferred

• Bachelor’s Degree.

Minimum Experience (Type and Duration)

Minimum

• 3 years of experience in the same or similar function.

Preferable

• 6 years of relevant experience.

Required Skills

1. Awareness of Quality, Occupational Health & Safety, and Environmental Management System principles.
2. Knowledge of the environmental and health impacts of chemicals stored in the warehouse.
3. Knowledge of the identification, handling, storage, and disposal of waste and expired chemicals.
4. Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
5. Ability to type at least 35 words per minute.
6. Ability to operate a personal computer and related software.
7. Good communication skills in English.
8. Hazard Risk Assessment knowledge.
9. Aspect Impact Assessment knowledge.

Desired Certification / Job Specific Skill / Training

• ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and OHSAS 18001 awareness/working knowledge is preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.

• Ready to work in a plant/warehouse environment and handle materials in accordance with applicable safety and storage requirements.
