Company Description InterContinental Taif is a resort hotel located in the Hejaz Mountains at an elevation of 5,577 feet, offering cooler temperatures, abundant sunshine, and scenic surroundings. Guests enjoy a range of leisure facilities including a heated indoor pool, tennis courts, and the Hawazen restaurant. The property features 179 elegantly appointed guest rooms and is close to local attractions such as Al Hada Mountain, Shubra Palace, and King Fahd Park. Situated on Airport Road in Taif, Saudi Arabia, the hotel also provides easy access to traditional souks known for spices, perfumes, and handicrafts.

Role Description The Lifeguard role is a full-time, on-site position based at InterContinental Taif in Taif, Saudi Arabia. The Lifeguard is responsible for supervising the hotel’s pool areas, monitoring guest activities, and ensuring a safe aquatic environment at all times. Daily tasks include enforcing pool rules, preventing unsafe behavior, responding promptly to emergencies, and providing first aid or CPR when required. The Lifeguard will conduct regular checks of pool facilities and equipment, report hazards or maintenance needs, and support cleanliness and organization of the pool area. The role also involves offering courteous assistance to guests, answering questions about pool usage, and collaborating with other hotel team members to maintain high service standards.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong swimming abilities and demonstrated water safety skills, including the capability to perform rescues confidently.
• Candidates should possess skills in emergency response, including current lifeguard certification, CPR, and basic first aid training from a recognized body.
• Candidates should possess effective communication and interpersonal skills to provide clear instructions, handle guest inquiries, and de-escalate potentially unsafe situations.
• Candidates should possess observation and situational awareness skills, with the ability to remain alert, focused, and responsive for extended periods.
• Candidates should possess a strong sense of responsibility, reliability, and professionalism, with the ability to follow hotel policies and safety procedures consistently.
• Previous experience as a lifeguard or in a similar aquatic safety role is highly beneficial, preferably in hospitality or resort environments.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays, and to stand or remain poolside for long periods is required.
• Knowledge of basic pool hygiene standards and safe use of pool equipment is an advantage.
