Home Healthcare Physical Therapist

The Physical Therapist (PT) will be responsible for providing comprehensive physical therapy services within the Home Healthcare Department, delivering safe, patient-centered, and evidence-based rehabilitation in patients’ homes. The PT will assess patients’ physical, functional, and mobility status, develop individualized treatment plans, and provide appropriate therapeutic interventions based on each patient’s clinical needs and home environment.

Key responsibilities include:

Conducting comprehensive home-based physical therapy assessments and identifying functional limitations, mobility issues, pain, and rehabilitation needs.

Developing and implementing individualized home-based treatment plans in coordination with physicians and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Providing therapeutic exercises, mobility training, balance and gait training, strengthening programs, and appropriate manual therapy interventions.

Educating patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, safe mobility, positioning, transfers, fall prevention, and activities of daily living.

Assessing the home environment and recommending appropriate modifications or safety measures to reduce the risk of falls and improve functional independence.

Providing rehabilitation for patients with orthopedic, musculoskeletal, neurological, and age-related conditions, according to clinical needs.

Monitoring patients’ progress and modifying treatment plans based on clinical response and functional improvement.

Coordinating with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity and quality of home-based care.

Participating in discharge planning and determining appropriate follow-up or continuation of rehabilitation services.

Maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation, including assessment findings, treatment provided, patient progress, and care plans.

Ensuring compliance with hospital policies, professional standards, patient confidentiality, infection-control procedures, and applicable healthcare regulations.

Providing culturally sensitive and compassionate care while maintaining professional communication with patients and their families.

Participating in continuous professional development and contributing to quality improvement within the Home Healthcare Department. 

• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy / Physiotherapy from an accredited university.
• Must be a Saudi national.
• Valid Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) registration and professional classification.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant clinical experience, preferably in Home Healthcare or rehabilitation.
• Previous experience in home-based physical therapy is preferred.
• Valid Saudi driving license.
• Must have a personal vehicle and be willing to travel to patients’ homes as required.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Ability to work independently and manage a home healthcare caseload effectively.
• Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and patient education skills.
• Commitment to patient safety, confidentiality, infection control, and professional standards.
• Fluency in Arabic and English is preferred.
