About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented General Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting operations, keep financial records accurate, and support month-end and year-end closing. The ideal candidate is hands-on, organized, and comfortable working in English in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Record daily financial transactions and maintain the general ledger

Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments

Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including vendor and customer reconciliations

Perform monthly bank reconciliations and follow up on discrepancies

Support month-end and year-end closing and prepare financial statements

Prepare VAT returns and support Zakat filings in line with ZATCA requirements

Track fixed assets and calculate depreciation

Assist with payroll entries and GOSI-related accounting

Maintain proper documentation and support internal and external audits

Prepare financial reports and analyses as requested by management

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

3-5 years of experience in general accounting, preferably in Saudi Arabia

Good knowledge of IFRS and Saudi tax regulations (VAT, Zakat)

Hands-on experience with accounting software or an ERP system (e.g., Odoo, SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks)

Strong Excel skills

Fluent English (spoken and written) is required

Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications (a Plus)

Experience in the Construction & Contracting industry, including project cost accounting, progress billing, retention, and subcontractor accounts

Arabic language skills

Transferable Iqama (for non-Saudi candidates)

SOCPA or CMA certification, or currently pursuing one

Essential Requirements

• Educational background in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in general accounting, preferably in a corporate environment.
• Proficiency in accounting principles and practices, including GAAP.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset.

Technical Qualifications

• Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including advanced functions and formulas.
• Familiarity with financial reporting and budgeting processes.
• Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements.
• CPA or CMA certification is preferred, but not mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Accounting or Finance is a plus.
• Experience in audit or tax preparation is desirable.
• Previous leadership experience or involvement in team projects.
• Connections within the accounting industry that can enhance company relationships.
