Job Brief

We are seeking an experienced HSE / Safety Engineer to support project and site teams in maintaining a safe working environment in compliance with applicable safety regulations, standards, and best practices. The role involves identifying, evaluating, and controlling workplace hazards, particularly within construction activities.

Responsibilities

• Review project drawings and method statements to ensure safe execution of work.
• Conduct risk assessments (JSA/RA) and develop mitigation measures for site activities.
• Develop and implement site-specific health and safety plans.
• Ensure compliance with local safety regulations and international standards (OSHA / ISO 45001).
• Conduct regular site inspections to identify unsafe conditions and behaviors.
• Ensure proper use of PPE by all employees and subcontractors.
• Deliver safety inductions, toolbox talks, and training sessions.
• Monitor high-risk activities such as lifting operations, scaffolding, excavation, and confined space entry.
• Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses; prepare reports and recommend corrective actions.
• Ensure implementation of permit-to-work systems.
• Recommend improvements to safety procedures and promote a strong safety culture.
• Coordinate emergency response plans and drills.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in construction safety.
• Professional certifications preferred (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA).
• Strong knowledge of safety regulations and construction practices.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and site priorities effectively.
