To provide services to patients for whom he / she is responsible to the highest attainable standard of care within the resources of Dallah Hospital by extracting of blood samples from patients including newborns and children, in accordance with the requested tests.

Checking of the completeness and accuracy of laboratory requests for essential data like name, age, sex, etc., and to follow to complete any missing items.
Extraction of blood samples from patients, as requested by the doctors and patient concerned.
Ensuring the proper labeling and arranging of collected samples.
Assist the levels to do the bleeding time for the in-patients and in time of difficult blood extraction.
Transporting some specimens if the tests require urgent results.
Manages the needed supplies in the phlebotomy rooms.
As directed by Head of Laboratory, in the absence of Receptionist he /she is responsible for:
Collecting cash payment receipts from patients (not covered by employer?s contract) and entering data in the computer for credit invoices for patients covered by employer?s contract.
Advise the patients about the procedures to follow for investigations for example, any need of being fasting state etc.
Maintain all documents, worksheets in his/her section/area are updated.
Ensures that all supplies used in the phlebotomy area are within the expiration dates.
Implements policies and procedures to achieve the hospital?s goals and objectives in pursuance of Standards of Care, Quality/Performance Improvement.
Participate in patient and family education to help patients and families to better understand and participate in their care and make well informed care decisions.
Performs any other duties within his range of his/her professional knowledge and skills as directed by Head of Department.JD-MED-LAB-012

Minimum of one year working experience as Medical Technologist.
B.S. Medical Technology Diploma in Medical Lab. Technology (4 years)
