Primary objective:
To provide overall support to the Director of Legal for all legal affairs within Misk Schools. handle both internal and external legal concerns, support on legal issues relating to the functions, structures and activities of Misk Schools and support management on issues pertaining to legal.
Areas of responsibility:
- Advice: provide sound advice based on legal research in a timely manner.
- Conduct a thorough examination of legal issues and provide a summarized report.
- Drafts and/or reviews legal letters, contracts and agreements and monitors legal obligations under agreements to ensure compliance, as requested.
- provide a high level of care and attention to each legal matter to securely affirm the client’s legal standing.
- Maintain a detailed tracker of all agreements/contracts and their status.
- Conduct a thorough and impartial investigation as instructed by the line manager.
- Assists in the formulation, implementation, and/or amendment of Misk Schools policies.
- Liaising with all departments to ensure that where legal risks have been identified, appropriate courses of action are taken to eliminate or mitigate these risks. This will include advising management on the appropriate courses of action to take in all legal-related cases.
- Reviewing and implementing legal policies and procedures to ensure that they are in accord with the existing legislation.
- Assist in the development of guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Review school policies and legalities and highlight potential risks.
- Adhere to departmental escalations as per the organization's structure.
- Analyze and review legal agreements, legislation, and documents.
- Provide continuous support in all department matters to the line manager.
- Assist in all such other administrative duties as directed by the Director of Legal.
- Undertake additional duties as and when required by the line manager.
Safeguarding:
- The post holder will be required to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people and follow the school’s safeguarding policies and the staff code of conduct. They will directly support the designated safeguarding lead as a priority to ensure the safety and well-being of all students at the school.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Law (essential).
Experience:
- +2 years relevant experience.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
- Good command of both English and Arabic.
- Must have a high level of soft skills i.e. effective communication, problem-solving, empathy, and collaboration.
