🏢 Position Overview
We are recruiting a highly qualified Consultant Anatomical Pathologist to lead the Anatomical Pathology Section. The candidate will provide clinical leadership, diagnostic excellence, and quality oversight aligned with CAP and CBAHI standards.
🎯 Key Responsibilities
🔬 Clinical & Diagnostic Duties
- Provide expert histopathology and cytopathology diagnoses
- Report surgical pathology, biopsies, cytology, and frozen sections
- Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings
- Ensure diagnostic accuracy and turnaround time compliance
🧭 Leadership & Management
- Lead and manage the Anatomical Pathology section staff
- Supervise pathologists, technologists, and trainees
- Develop and implement policies, SOPs, and workflows
- Monitor performance indicators (TAT, QC metrics, workload)
📊 Quality & Accreditation
- Ensure full compliance with CAP and CBAHI accreditation standards
- Oversee quality management systems (QMS)
- Lead internal audits, external proficiency testing, and inspections
- Manage incident reporting and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)
🎓 Education & Development
- Provide training and mentorship to staff and residents
- Lead continuing medical education (CME) activities
- Promote research and evidence-based practices
✅ Required Qualifications
- MD in Anatomical Pathology
- Board certification in Anatomical Pathology (e.g., Arab Board, European, American Board)
- Valid SCFHS Consultant classification/license
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience, including leadership role
- Experience in a CAP-accredited laboratory is highly preferred
