Job Title: Senior Landscape Engineer - Construction Supervision

Project: Mixed-Use Residential Villas

Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

Reports To: Project Manager / Construction Manager

1. Job Purpose

The Senior Landscape Engineer will be the lead technical authority on site, responsible for the successful delivery of all landscape and irrigation works for a prestigious mixed-use residential villa project. This role involves leading the site supervision team, ensuring that all elements of the project-from hardscape and softscape to irrigation and water features-are executed to the highest standards of quality, in strict accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and project schedules. The incumbent will act as the primary liaison between the contractor, the client/PMC, and the design team to resolve site issues and ensure the project is delivered to the client's satisfaction while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment .

2. Key Responsibilities

Site Supervision & Technical Oversight

• Direct and Supervise: Lead and manage all on-site activities related to landscaping, irrigation, hardscaping, water features, and all associated works . Oversee the contractor's daily operations to ensure compliance with contract documents.
• Quality Assurance: Implement and monitor stringent quality control procedures. Inspect all landscape installations, including plant selection, soil preparation, paving, and structural elements, to ensure they meet the required specifications and standards .
• Document Review: Thoroughly review and provide technical approval for all contractor submittals, including shop drawings, design proposals, method statements, and material samples . Verify the correctness and completeness of 'as-built' drawings .
• RFI Management: Review and respond to all Requests for Information (RFIs) from the contractor related to landscape works. Coordinate with the design office to resolve discrepancies between contract drawings and site conditions .

Project Management & Coordination

• Program Management: Assist in the preparation and monitoring of the project schedule. Track progress against milestones and implement recovery actions as needed to ensure the timely completion of works .
• Stakeholder Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for all landscape-related matters. Coordinate effectively with the client/PMC, the Contractor, and relevant local authorities .
• Team Leadership: Direct, assist, and monitor the performance of the construction supervision team. Mentor and guide junior engineers to foster a high-performing and collaborative team culture .
• Contract Administration: Participate in contract administration duties, including measurement and certification of completed works .

Compliance & Safety

• Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE): Actively champion a "Safety First" culture. Ensure all site activities comply with project HSE regulations and company safety protocols . Liaise with the HSE team to enforce safe practices, particularly around high-risk areas like excavations and water features.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all landscape works comply with relevant local building codes, regulations, and guidelines for residential villa projects in Riyadh .

3. Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Horticulture, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field .
• Experience:
• A minimum of 10-12 years of post-graduate experience in landscape design and construction supervision of large-scale, mixed-use residential or villa projects .
• Proven experience in a senior supervisory role on a project of similar scale and complexity is mandatory .
