Position Overview

We are seeking a battle-tested, highly authoritative Head of Venue Operations who has commanded the live, high-density operations of a major international precinct, world exposition zone, Olympic-scale stadium, or mega-festival environment.

Entering at the inception phase, you will champion the operational zoning, crowd-flow design, and space-use planning for our massive event footprints. You will transition from design strategist to the absolute field commander of the venue. You will break down silos on the ground, ensuring that overlay contractors, international pavilion teams, broadcast crews, and commercial vendors operate as a single, harmonious unit. You are the final line of defence for crowd safety, venue presentation, and immediate problem-solving on the floor.

Key Responsibilities

1. Early-Stage Venue Strategy & Spatial Design

• Architect Operational Zoning: Define and author the venue's site operational plans, access-control boundaries, vehicle-access zones (VAPs), and front-of-house (FOH) vs. back-of-house (BOH) spatial splits during the master-planning phase.
• Operational Readiness & Handover: Lead the venue-specific "Operational Readiness, Activation, and Transition" (ORAT) framework. Drive the seamless physical handover from construction contractors and overlay installation teams to the live operational teams.
• Commercial & Pavilion Integration: Collaborate with international delegations, corporate sponsors, and food/beverage operators to coordinate their structural fit-outs, deliveries, and waste management profiles without disrupting main site logistics.

2. Precinct Command & Cross-Functional Orchestration

• Command the On-Site Footprint: Serve as the central, sovereign field authority within the designated venue footprint, cross-coordinating daily operations across Facilities Management, Logistics, Transport drops, Guest Services, and Cleaning providers.
• Silo-Breaking Leadership: Chair daily multi-agency, on-site briefings with security forces, technical teams, and creative directors to align the site's daily schedule against expected crowd numbers, ambient weather conditions, and programming shifts.

3. Incident Management & Venue Presentation

• Direct the Venue Operations Centre (VOC): Establish and lead the localized Venue Operations Centre, monitoring live data, CCTV feeds, and staff radio networks to resolve localized bottlenecks, security triggers, or medical incidents instantly.
• Uphold Look-and-Feel Standards: Govern the absolute presentation of the venue. Ensure cleaning contractors, waste removal crews, wayfinding signage, and environmental cooling systems are executing flawlessly to protect Sela's premium brand experience.

Candidate Profile & Experience Requirements

• Mega-Event Footprint Heritage: A minimum of 12–15+ years of heavy field experience in venue management, stadium management, or precinct operations, with a proven track record of heading operations for at least one major international Expo, Olympic-scale multi-sport zone, or city-wide cultural festival.
• The "Ground-Up" Operator: Demonstrated experience shaping operational strategies from architectural concepts and blueprints, with the rare ability to visualize crowd behaviors and operational friction points before the venue is built.
• High-Stress Command Presence: Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with a proven ability to maintain total composure, make rapid executive decisions, and command multi-disciplinary teams in high-pressure, live crowd environments.
• Geographical Adaptability: Experience operating within the Middle East/GCC region is highly desirable, with a sophisticated understanding of Riyadh's operational climate, cultural protocols, and Vision 2030 initiatives.
• Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business Operations, Sports/Entertainment Management, Venue Management, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced certifications in crowd safety or international venue management (e.g., IAVM) are highly valued.
