About the Role
The EHS Officer will be responsible for establishing and developing the foundations, standards, and procedures for environmental, health, and safety at the work site. This role involves identifying occupational hazards, defining prevention measures, ensuring the availability and proper use of safety equipment, and preparing specialized documentation and reports on EHS performance and outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and develop EHS policies, procedures, and instructions - such as the safety policy, safe work instructions, evacuation procedures, safety committee guidelines, safety records, and medical examination protocols - and follow up on their approval and monitor compliance.
- Identify mechanical, electrical, and chemical hazards at the work site, and install appropriate warning signs and labels.
- Prepare lists of required EHS items, quantities, and specifications, and follow up on their procurement and employees' compliance in using them.
- Develop work methods and procedures in line with technical advancements.
- Prepare specialized documentation and reports related to engineering works and projects and their progress, present and clarify them, and maintain them in the relevant database in accordance with approved policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Good command of the English language (written and spoken).
- Basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
- Willingness to learn and develop skills within the EHS field.
