The Vacuum Furnace Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation, monitoring, and maintenance of high-temperature vacuum furnaces and related atomization equipment. This role supports metal processing operations by preparing raw materials, operating furnace control systems, maintaining strict quality standards, and performing routine maintenance while adhering to safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Perform cleaning, quality inspection, monitoring, and securing tasks to support vacuum atomization furnace setup.
- Assist in preparing raw material charges and operating the furnace control board
- Enter program data, adjust equipment settings, and vary temperature, timing, and atmospheric conditions (gas introduction or evacuation) as specified
- Operate and monitor multiple furnaces according to NQWI 4.09.2.16 standards
- Efficiently produce certified parts in compliance with quality and process requirements
- Select tools, fixtures, and programs to anneal and harden a variety of metal parts and components
- Assemble and braze metal and ceramic components using a range of brazing alloys
- Perform minor repairs on furnaces, atomization chambers, and auxiliary equipment
- And clean atomization chambers, furnace interiors, crucibles, and O-ring seals.
- Assist with attachment and detachment of gas, electrical, and water connections to furnace lids and tanks
What You Bring
- High School Diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of experience operating vacuum furnaces
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic mathematical conversions
- Proficiency in basic computer applications
- Ability and willingness to work with high-temperature ovens and furnaces
- Availability to work overtime as operational needs require
