An exciting opportunity has arisen for a
Senior Specialist, Services and Solutions Procurement
- The successful candidate will develop and drive a project procurement strategy to support hub business growth, profitability, and cash flow improvement whilst maintaining strong cross-functional relationships, ensuring, and maintaining a customer-driven ethos and continuously improving our total cost of acquisition performance.
The role encompasses responsibility for Project Resale materials & services, Non-Project purchasing, Logistics, and other functional areas as required by the business. An important element of the role will be formulating risk management strategies and participating with stakeholders to review and mitigate risks within the business.
The role is designed to offer development opportunities, place the employee at the heart of strategic initiatives and provide exposure to other business disciplines.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Develop and drive project procurement strategy to support hub business growth, profitability, and cash flow improvement through continuous productivity improvement initiatives.
- Involve in Procurement activities associated with the effective purchasing of Project requirements by the Procurement Department in accordance with Project or end-user schedules, specifications, and budgets.
- Develop and responsible in conjunction with Project Managers/Coordinators for the Project Procurement Plan and Execution Strategy for individual Projects.
- Identify and qualify key 3rd party suppliers and sub-contractors for framework agreements to provide competitive pricing and services to support the Pre-bid winning rates and during project execution to improve project gross margin
- Develop and administer bid panels, issue bid requests, coordinate answers to bidder questions, analyze bids, preparing commercial bid summaries and recommendations in accordance with established procedures
- Influence project bid/proposal process by ensuring the best 3rd party strategy to give SES PA a competitive cost position during customer pursuits
- Ensures that the procurement process is in adherence to company and client requirements, company policies, and procedures to ensure successful delivery of project requirements.
- Ensures that all purchases are competitively bid or that sufficient justification and documentation are obtained to allow non-bid purchases.
- Evaluate risk and implement an appropriate risk management plan to prevent both cost and schedule overrun and ensure continuity of supply for the projects.
- Collaborate and develop with Sales/Proposal, Project Delivery, and Peers across the hub to drive competitive material productivity and operational synergies to leverage on spending to achieve competitive pricing, quality, delivery, and risk management with the supply base
- Handle and manage Project RFQs, commercial evaluations, PO award, and PO administration to final delivery and PO close out.
- Develop and maintain a commercially sound Vendor base, survey the market for new supply sources including non-traditional ones and maintain Project “Approved Vendor List”.
- Manage the evaluation of vendor performance on a continuous basis
- Provide logistics & warehouse support to the Project delivery team including seaworthiness packing and delivery of the completed system to customer sites.
- Deploy digital transformation and tools, improve, and streamline the end-to-end process
- Ensure Trade compliance requirements and adhere to the rules, due diligent check
- Any other task as assigned
- Promote integrity, professionalism, and adherence to Schneider Electric ethical standards.
- Drive continuous improvement in all areas of supply chain activity and participate in improvement initiatives throughout the organization.
- Drive and ensure compliance with all regional and global policies, procedures, and quality accreditations.
- Issue Requests for Quotation (RFQs) as necessary to support project pursuit opportunities.
- Perform bid analysis and make recommendations in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements including import/export tariffs and documentation, trade compliance, customs, and revenue.
- Manage and undertake expediting activities across all third-party and inter-company supply chains.
- Degree in Supply Chain/Engineering and min 7 years of related experience in process automation, Engineering Procurement & Construction (EPC), or Large Oil & Gas industries preferably.
- Experience with Sub-contract services & out-sourcing
- Strong Knowledge of Project procurement practices and cost structures; strong negotiation skills and contract law.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail are required.
- Ability to interact effectively with various levels of management is required. Outstanding verbal, presentation & facilitation skills plus effective listening skills, high energy, and engagement.
- Strong knowledge of procurement practices, regulations, and policies.
- Strong knowledge of contract types, contractual terms and conditions, and experience in negotiating and developing contracts with suppliers.
- Experience in international sourcing and development of global supplier relationships.
- Strong team player with experience of participation in cross-functional team improvement activities.
- Ability to work in a fast-moving environment, demonstrate confident decision-making capability, and achieve credibility with colleagues at all levels.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to make decisions and manage time effectively.
- Sound understanding of other business functions, particularly Project Management, Tendering, and Finance.
- Experience in using integrated ERP systems (SAP) including procurement tools such as SRM.
- Experience in operating within a cross matrix organization advantageous.
- English fluency to business standard essential.
