Role Summary:

Responsible for running portfolio-level governance for AMTPJ’s strategic and transformation initiatives within the Enterprise Project Management Office. The role owns the integrity of portfolio reporting to executive management, operates the routines and KPI cadence of the company management system, and challenges initiative owners on status, risk, and execution readiness. The Senior Analyst acts as a centre of excellence resource on portfolio governance methods and quality-controls the work of the Analyst, without carrying delivery accountability for individual initiatives.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Maintain portfolio-level tracking of approved strategic and transformation initiatives, including milestones, dependencies, risks, and issues.
• Prepare and update executive dashboards, status reports, and steering committee packs for the Senior Manager, the Director, and executive management.
• Support the operation of the company management system, including meeting routines, KPI reporting cycles, action logs, and follow-up on decisions taken by top and middle management.
• Flag deviations, delays, and cross-initiative conflicts to the Senior Manager, with an initial view on root cause and possible resolution.
• Maintain the EPMO’s standards, templates, and tools, and support initiative owners in applying them consistently.
• Contribute milestone and portfolio inputs to the 10-year plan and annual budgeting cycle.
• Own the consolidated portfolio view of strategic and transformation initiatives, ensuring it is complete, current, and reconcilable to initiative owners’ own reporting.
• Design and produce executive dashboards, steering committee materials, and decision-ready status packs for the Senior Manager, the Director, and executive management.
• Operate the company management system cadence, including meeting routines, KPI selection and cascade, action logs, and follow-up with top and middle management.
• Challenge initiative owners constructively on milestone credibility, dependency risk, and execution readiness, and escalate material deviations to the Senior Manager.
• Maintain and improve EPMO standards, templates, and tools, and coach initiative owners and the Analyst on their consistent application.
• Quality-control the portfolio data, reporting, and deliverables produced by the Analyst.
• Support Stage-Gate and Front-End Loading governance for capital initiatives within the portfolio, in line with the framework set by the Senior Manager.
• Support the 10-year planning and annual budgeting process by aligning portfolio milestones and resource assumptions.
• Prepare analysis on portfolio-level trends, delivery bottlenecks, and benefits realisation to inform management decisions.

Qualification and Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business administration, project management, finance, or a related field from a recognised university.
• Master’s degree or MBA is preferred.
• Certification in project or portfolio management, such as PMP, PgMP, PfMP, PRINCE2, or an AACE certification, is preferred.

Experience:

• Consulting route: 3 to 4 years in a strategy, transformation, or capital projects advisory firm, including at least 2 years at Associate or Consultant level, or equivalent.
• Corporate PMO route: 5 to 7 years in an enterprise, corporate, or transformation PMO, of which at least 3 years at portfolio or programme level.
• Capital projects route: 7 to 9 years in project controls, planning, or PMO within an owner’s team or EPC contractor, of which at least 3 years at portfolio or programme level rather than single-project level.
• Either of the first two routes is preferred. Experience in industrial, manufacturing, oil and gas, or other capital-intensive sectors is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience preparing materials for, and presenting into, executive or steering committee forums.

Skills:

• Strong expertise in portfolio governance, milestone and dependency management, and execution tracking across multiple parallel initiatives.
• Practical command of management system mechanics, including meeting routines, KPI definition and cascade, action tracking, and follow-up discipline with senior stakeholders.
• Working knowledge of project and portfolio governance frameworks, including PMBOK, ISO 21502, and Stage-Gate or Front-End Loading logic for capital initiatives.
• Strong problem-solving mindset and the ability to manage multiple ongoing priorities under time pressure.
• Ability to challenge senior stakeholders constructively while maintaining effective working relationships across functions.
• Effective communicator with solid stakeholder management abilities across departments and levels of seniority.
