Job Title: Vice President of Finance

Location: United States - Remote

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Vice President of Finance to lead the company’s financial planning, analysis, reporting, and operational finance functions. This senior leadership role will provide financial guidance to executive leadership, strengthen financial processes, and support informed business decisions that contribute to sustainable growth.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in corporate finance, financial planning and analysis, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and business performance management. This position requires a commercially minded finance leader who can combine strong analytical skills with sound business judgment and effective cross-functional leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Strategy & Planning

Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with company objectives, operating plans, and long-term business priorities.

Financial Planning & Analysis

Lead budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and performance analysis. Provide leadership with clear insights into financial trends, opportunities, and business results.

Financial Reporting

Oversee timely and accurate financial reporting and management analysis. Ensure financial information is presented clearly and supports effective decision-making.

Business Performance Management

Develop financial metrics and reporting frameworks that provide visibility into revenue, expenses, profitability, cash flow, and overall business performance.

Budget Management

Lead annual budgeting and ongoing financial planning processes. Partner with department leaders to establish appropriate budgets and monitor performance against financial plans.

Cash Flow & Financial Management

Monitor cash flow, working capital, and financial resources. Develop effective financial planning practices that support operational needs and long-term business objectives.

Strategic Decision Support

Partner with executive leadership and business leaders to evaluate investments, operating plans, new initiatives, and other strategic decisions from a financial perspective.

Financial Controls & Processes

Strengthen financial controls, policies, procedures, and reporting processes to improve accuracy, efficiency, and financial visibility.

Team Leadership & Development

Lead, mentor, and develop finance professionals. Establish clear objectives, encourage professional growth, and build a high-performing finance organization.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with accounting, operations, sales, marketing, product, human resources, and executive leadership to integrate financial considerations into business planning and execution.

Risk Management

Identify financial and operational risks and recommend practical strategies to support sound financial management and business continuity.

Executive Reporting

Provide senior leadership with regular financial updates, forecasts, performance analysis, and recommendations regarding business priorities and financial performance.

Qualifications

Senior Finance Leadership Experience

Proven experience leading finance functions with significant responsibility for financial planning, analysis, reporting, and business performance management.

Financial Expertise

Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, cash flow management, financial reporting, and corporate finance practices.

Strategic Thinking

Ability to translate financial information into practical business recommendations and connect financial performance with broader organizational objectives.

Analytical & Decision-Making Skills

Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to evaluate complex financial information, identify trends, and support informed business decisions.

Leadership & Communication

Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively with executives and cross-functional teams.

Operational Excellence

Experience improving financial processes, reporting systems, controls, and operating practices to increase efficiency and accuracy.

Business Acumen

Strong understanding of how financial planning, operational performance, customer activity, and market conditions influence overall business results.

Remote Leadership

Experience leading distributed finance teams and collaborating effectively across a remote organization.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience serving as a Vice President of Finance, Finance Director, Head of Finance, or comparable senior finance leader.

Experience supporting a growing organization through financial planning and operational development.

Strong background in FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and performance analysis.

Experience with ERP systems, financial planning tools, business intelligence platforms, and reporting technologies.

Experience partnering with executive leadership on strategic planning and business decisions.
