Head of Technical Department - Wood Processing Factories (رئيس قسم تقني - مصانع الصناعات الخشبية)

Job Description

We are looking for a Head of Technical Department to join a factory specialized in woodworking and Joinery, to be responsible for supervising the technical aspects of projects, reviewing drawings and designs, and coordinating between technical and production departments to ensure implementation of work according to the required specifications and quality.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the technical department and monitor the performance of engineers and technical drafters.
• Review and approve execution drawings and shop drawings for woodworking works.
• Review designs and plans and ensure their feasibility for execution and manufacturing.
• Translate designs and plans into technical details suitable for production.
• Coordinate with the design, production, procurement and quality departments.
• Review technical specifications and materials used in manufacturing.
• Resolve technical issues that arise during manufacturing and installation.
• Ensure final products comply with approved drawings and specifications.
• Develop and improve manufacturing methods and processes to raise efficiency and reduce waste.
• Follow project needs for drawings and technical details and ensure delivery on time.
• Review quantities, dimensions and technical details before starting production.
• Support the sales and projects team in technical aspects and provide suitable customer solutions.
• Communicate with clients, consultants and contractors as needed to resolve technical inquiries.
• Prepare technical reports and monitor workflow within the department.
• Train and guide team members and evaluate their performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Engineering, preferably Architectural or Civil Engineering or a related specialty.
• Strong experience in the technical field within wood factories and Joinery.
• Experience in preparing and reviewing Shop Drawings and Production Drawings.
• Good knowledge of fabrication and installation processes for wooden works.
• Experience with AutoCAD, preferably knowledge of design and 3D software.
• Ability to read and understand drawings and technical specifications.
• Experience in managing a technical team and coordinating between different departments.
• Good knowledge of materials and woods and manufacturing and finishing methods.
