Job Title: Financial Director

Location: United States - Remote

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Financial Director to lead financial planning, analysis, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and day-to-day financial management. This role will work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to provide accurate financial insights, strengthen financial processes, and support sound business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Analysis

Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support business objectives and operational priorities.

Financial Reporting

Oversee timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting. Provide clear analysis of financial performance and business trends.

Budget Management

Coordinate the annual budgeting process and work with department leaders to establish, monitor, and manage departmental budgets.

Forecasting

Develop and maintain financial forecasts based on business performance, operating plans, market conditions, and updated business assumptions.

Performance Analysis

Analyze revenue, expenses, profitability, cash flow, and other key financial indicators. Identify trends and provide practical recommendations to leadership.

Cash Flow Management

Monitor cash flow, working capital, and financial resources to support effective financial planning and operational requirements.

Financial Controls

Maintain appropriate financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting practices to support accuracy, consistency, and responsible financial management.

Business Partnership

Work closely with operations, sales, marketing, product, customer success, and other departments to incorporate financial insights into business planning and decision-making.

Strategic Decision Support

Evaluate business initiatives, investments, operating plans, and financial opportunities. Provide analysis and recommendations to support informed decisions.

Process Improvement

Review financial processes and reporting practices and implement improvements that increase efficiency, accuracy, transparency, and scalability.

Team Leadership

Lead, mentor, and develop finance professionals while establishing clear objectives, responsibilities, and performance expectations.

Financial Systems

Support the effective use and improvement of financial systems, reporting platforms, planning tools, and business analytics solutions.

Executive Reporting

Prepare financial presentations, management reports, forecasts, and business analysis for senior leadership.

Qualifications

Financial Management Experience

Proven experience in financial management, FP&A, accounting, corporate finance, or a related financial leadership role.

Financial Expertise

Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, financial analysis, cash flow management, and financial controls.

Analytical Skills

Strong ability to analyze financial information, identify trends, evaluate performance, and develop actionable recommendations.

Business Acumen

Understanding of how financial performance, operational activity, customer trends, and business decisions influence overall company results.

Leadership Skills

Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop finance professionals while working effectively with cross-functional teams.

Communication Skills

Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.

Problem-Solving

Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and practical problem-solving abilities.

Technology Skills

Experience with ERP systems, financial planning tools, spreadsheets, reporting platforms, and business analytics technologies.

Remote Collaboration

Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with distributed teams in a remote environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience serving as a Financial Director, Finance Director, Senior Finance Manager, or comparable financial leadership position.

Strong background in FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and business performance analysis.

Experience supporting a growing organization through financial planning and operational improvement.

Experience developing financial models, management reports, and performance dashboards.

Experience partnering with senior leadership on strategic planning and business decisions.
