Position Overview

A private family in Riyadh is seeking experienced and highly capable Subject Teachers to provide personalised, one-to-one academic tuition to students across secondary and advanced academic levels.

The successful candidate will be a specialist in their respective academic discipline, capable of delivering structured and engaging tuition aligned with the student's school curriculum, academic objectives, and examination requirements.

This is a discreet private appointment requiring an accomplished educator who combines excellent subject knowledge with professionalism, adaptability, and the ability to deliver high-quality individualised instruction within a private family environment.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Planning and delivering high-quality one-to-one tuition in their specialist subject
• Aligning tuition with the student's curriculum, academic level, and examination requirements
• Assessing the student's current performance and identifying areas requiring additional support
• Strengthening subject knowledge and addressing gaps in understanding
• Supporting homework, coursework, assignments, and school assessments
• Preparing the student for relevant external examinations
• Developing effective revision, examination, and independent study techniques
• Preparing tailored learning materials, exercises, and extension activities
• Monitoring academic progress and adapting teaching strategies accordingly
• Challenging the student appropriately to support strong academic outcomes
• Building confidence, motivation, and independence
• Communicating professionally with the family regarding academic progress and priorities
• Coordinating with the student's school or other educators where required
• Maintaining a structured, positive, and encouraging learning environment
  
  

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be an experienced educator with excellent knowledge of their specialist discipline and a proven ability to support students at secondary and/or advanced academic levels.

Applicants should demonstrate:

• Excellent knowledge of their specialist subject
• Strong understanding of the British curriculum or another recognised international curriculum
• Experience teaching at secondary and/or advanced academic levels
• Familiarity with relevant examination specifications and assessment requirements
• The ability to explain complex concepts clearly and effectively
• Strong examination preparation and academic support capabilities
• The ability to tailor tuition to an individual student's learning style and academic profile
• Excellent communication, organisation, and interpersonal skills
• A patient, engaging, and academically rigorous teaching approach
• Professional maturity, discretion, and sound judgement
• Confidence working independently within a private household
  
  

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should ideally hold:

• A bachelor's degree in their specialist subject or a closely related discipline
• A recognised teaching qualification such as QTS, PGCE, or an equivalent credential
• Several years of relevant teaching or private tutoring experience
• Experience teaching recognised international curricula
• Experience preparing students for external examinations
• Knowledge of recognised examination boards
• A strong record of supporting positive academic outcomes
• Positive and verifiable professional references
  
  

Previous experience providing long-term one-to-one tuition or working with high-profile, VVIP, royal, diplomatic, or international families would be advantageous but is not essential.

Working Arrangements

This is a part-time private teaching position based in Riyadh.

Teaching hours will primarily be arranged around the student's school timetable and academic commitments. The successful candidate should be reasonably flexible and able to adapt the teaching schedule according to academic priorities.

Additional support may occasionally be required during examination periods, revision periods, school holidays, or other important stages of the academic year.

Exact working days and hours will be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate.

Travel and Confidentiality

The position will be based primarily in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Occasional domestic or international travel may be required to maintain continuity of the student's education.

Due to the private nature of the appointment, the Teacher must maintain complete confidentiality and discretion regarding the student, family, household, schedules, travel arrangements, and any other private information encountered during the appointment.

The successful candidate must not disclose, publish, photograph, record, or share confidential information without prior permission.
