We are looking for an IT Systems Engineer - Technical Support to join a technical infrastructure environment supporting critical server, GPU, storage, networking and liquid-cooling systems.

This is a highly hands-on role where you will take ownership of technical incidents from initial diagnosis through to resolution, working both remotely and onsite. You will be responsible for maintaining infrastructure, troubleshooting hardware and system issues, carrying out preventive maintenance, and working directly with customer technical teams to ensure systems remain operational and SLA requirements are met.

What You'll Be Doing

Technical Support & Incident Management

• Provide 1st and 2nd level technical support across server, storage and network environments.
• Take ownership of assigned incidents and tickets through to resolution.
• Classify, investigate and analyse technical incidents.
• Troubleshoot issues remotely and onsite in line with agreed SLAs.
• Produce detailed technical analysis and incident reports.
• Identify potential escalations early and take proactive steps to prevent further impact.

Hardware & Infrastructure Maintenance

• Perform hardware replacements and physical fault isolation.
• Carry out system health checks and operational readiness testing.
• Troubleshoot server, GPU, storage and networking hardware.
• Reseat and replace network cables and other physical components where required.
• Perform root cause analysis on hardware failures.
• Carry out firmware and BIOS updates.
• Support annual liquid-cooling maintenance activities.
• Conduct regular preventive maintenance and infrastructure health checks.

Warranty & Documentation

• Manage and track RMA (Return Material Authorization) cases with hardware manufacturers.
• Maintain accurate records of all troubleshooting and maintenance activities within the ticketing system.
• Prepare technical and service-related documentation.
• Prepare, refurbish and test spare parts to ensure they are ready for deployment.

On-Call & Onsite Support

• Participate in technical on-call rotations.
• Provide permanent onsite technical support when required.
• Respond quickly and effectively to critical infrastructure incidents.

Customer Support

• Communicate independently and professionally with customer technical contacts.
• Provide clear updates throughout the incident lifecycle.
• Build strong working relationships with customer technical teams.
• Maintain a high standard of service quality and customer satisfaction.

What We're Looking For

Experience & Qualifications

• Completed apprenticeship, vocational training or equivalent qualification in IT Systems Engineering, Systems Administration, IT Infrastructure or a related discipline.
• 2-3+ years of professional experience working with server, storage and network infrastructure.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting and maintaining enterprise hardware.
• Comfortable working from technical manuals, service documentation and manufacturer specifications.

Technical Skills

• Strong understanding of IT infrastructure and hardware.
• Ability to independently diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues.
• Good knowledge of server, storage and networking environments.
• Experience with hardware maintenance and component replacement.
• Knowledge of firmware and BIOS updates.
• Understanding of preventive maintenance and system health checks.
• Strong documentation and ticket-management skills.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office - particularly Word, Excel and Outlook.

The Ideal Candidate

We're looking for someone who is hands-on, technically curious and comfortable working directly with physical infrastructure. You should be able to work independently, remain calm when dealing with critical incidents and communicate confidently with both technical teams and customers.
