Summary

Designsand fabricates prosthodontics devices (dentures and partials), crown, andbridges. Performs restoration building process, including but not limited toComputer Aided Design (CAD), Computer Aided Milling (CAM), Model, Dye, Wax,Finish, Implants, Stain and Glaze, and all forms of ceramic restorationtechniques.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

1.Performs all functions of the Dental LaboratoryTechnologist, as directed. Receives training in other Dental Laboratory (DL) techniquesand procedures, as required.

2.Fabricates fixed and removable prosthesisusing accepted techniques and procedures and as experience and capabilitiespermit.

3.Assists in providing and maintaining a highstandard of quality control on work produced in the assigned section of the DL.

4.Produces and designs dental implant crownsand bridges for both fixed and removable restorations. Produces surgicalstints.

5.Uses scanners and dental CAD CAM, dentaldesign for crown and bridge, and dental implant.

6.Sets teeth up for orthodontic model - using3D data manipulation software.

7.Assists with the development of OrthodonticLaboratory Digital Services and with continuous improvements to existingservices.

8.Assists to develop and maintaindepartmental policies and procedures, goals and objectives, performanceimprovement programs, safety and environmental policies, and infection controlpolicies.

9.Provides training to DL staff, SCDPparticipants, internship students and student trainees, as assigned.

10.Assists in introducing and evaluating newand state-of-the-art technology in DL field.

11.Consults with staff dentists regardingdesign and set-up or fittings of devices.

12.Assures adequate inventory of supplies andequipment, as necessary.

13.Maintains complete and accurate records ofall work performed.

14.Assists other DL personnel as required andas directed by the DL manager.

15.Follows all Hospital related policies andprocedures.

16.Participates in self and others’ education,training, and development, as applicable.

17.Performs other related dutiesas assigned.

Education

Master’s,Bachelor’s, or Associate Degree/Diploma in Dental Laboratory Technology isrequired.

Experience Required

*Grade 09:

Two (2) years of related experience withMaster’s, four (4) years with Bachelor’s Degree, or six (6) years withAssociate Degree/Diploma is required.

*Grade 10:

-Four (4) years as Dental LaboratoryTechnologist at KFSH&RC

-Average of annual performance appraisal atleast (3.5) for the last four (4) years.

-One hundred (100) hours ofcumulative continued medical education [CME].

Other Requirements(Certificates)

*Current Registration from country of originand Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) is required.

*Fabricating all Dental Laboratoryprosthesis with an expertise in at least (2) two sections of the DentalLaboratory is required.

*Bilingual skills [English& Arabic] in verbal and written communications are required.
