Systems Administrator (Manager / Advisor)

Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

Work Type: Full Time

Salary: SAR 10,000 - SAR 12,000 per month

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Systems Administrator (Manager / Advisor) to join our IT team in Riyadh. This is a hands-on technical leadership role responsible for managing system operations while providing technical guidance, infrastructure oversight, and mentorship to junior team members.

The role focuses on ensuring the reliability, security, performance, and scalability of server infrastructure, cloud environments, virtualization platforms, and critical business applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer, configure, and maintain Windows and Linux servers, virtualization platforms such as VMware and Hyper-V, and cloud environments including AWS and Azure.
• Monitor system performance, identify potential issues, and implement performance optimization and capacity planning strategies.
• Manage security policies, firewalls, patch management, and vulnerability assessments while supporting compliance with standards such as ISO 27001 and NCA requirements.
• Manage backup solutions and disaster recovery plans to support data integrity and business continuity.
• Use PowerShell, Bash, or Python to automate system administration tasks and improve operational efficiency.
• Act as an escalation point for complex technical issues and provide expert technical guidance to stakeholders.
• Lead infrastructure projects from design through deployment and implementation.
• Mentor and support junior system administrators while reviewing their work and promoting continuous technical development.
• Maintain technical documentation, system diagrams, performance reports, and incident reports.

Qualifications & Requirements

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree is preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in System Administration, including at least 2 years in a managerial or advisory capacity.
• Strong expertise in Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
• Hands-on experience with Linux distributions including RHEL, Ubuntu, and CentOS.
• Experience managing cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS or Azure.
• Advanced knowledge of virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere or Hyper-V.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts including TCP/IP, VPN, VLANs, routing, and load balancing.
• Experience with backup solutions such as Veeam, Commvault, or similar technologies.
• Experience with disaster recovery methodologies.
• Proficiency in PowerShell or Bash scripting.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively during critical incidents.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Arabic is a plus.

Preferred

• Industry certifications such as MCSE, RHCE, AWS Solutions Architect, VCP, or ITIL.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or hybrid cloud environments.
• Previous experience working in Saudi Arabia or the GCC region.
