Role Description

Somewhere Hotel Al Ahsa is seeking a detail-oriented Cost Controller to join our Finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and controlling the hotel's operational costs across all departments - including Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, and general operating expenses - to ensure efficient use of resources and adherence to budgeted targets. This role operates with a high degree of independence and minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor daily food and beverage costs, including receiving, storage, and issuing procedures
• Conduct regular physical inventory counts and reconcile with system records
• Review purchase requisitions and ensure compliance with approved pricing and vendor agreements
• Analyze cost variances and prepare monthly cost reports for management
• Ensure proper implementation of standard recipes and portion control
• Coordinate with Purchasing, Receiving, and Store departments to maintain control procedures
• Identify areas of cost leakage and recommend corrective actions
• Support the Finance Manager in budget preparation and forecasting

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3-5 years' experience in a similar role, preferably in hospitality
• Strong knowledge of cost control systems and inventory management
• Proficiency in Excel and hotel accounting/POS systems
• High attention to detail and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently
