Role Description The External Auditor Trainee role is a full-time, on-site position based in Al Khobar. The trainee will support audit teams in performing external audits, including testing controls, reviewing financial records, and assisting in the preparation of working papers and audit documentation. Daily tasks include gathering and analyzing client data, helping verify compliance with relevant accounting, tax, and regulatory requirements, and supporting the evaluation of internal control environments. The trainee will participate in fieldwork at client sites, work closely with senior auditors to understand audit methodologies, and contribute to drafting observations and recommendations. The role also involves maintaining accurate records, following professional standards, and actively developing technical and professional skills through guidance and training.

Qualifications

• Foundational knowledge of accounting principles and financial statement preparation, with the ability to analyze balances and transactions.
• Understanding of audit concepts, external audit procedures, and basic internal control evaluation techniques.
• Interest in tax and regulatory compliance, including exposure or willingness to learn about Zakat, income tax, and VAT requirements.
• Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear work papers and collaborate with team members and clients.
• Proficiency in common office and accounting software (e.g., Excel and basic financial systems) and the capacity to learn new tools quickly.
• Ability to work on-site at client locations, manage time effectively, and handle multiple assignments under supervision.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or in progress, where applicable); professional certification aspirations (e.g., CPA, SOCPA, ACCA) are an advantage.
• Commitment to ethical conduct, confidentiality, and adherence to international professional standards of auditing.
