Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Maintenance Engineer role based in Jiddah at the National Center for Meteorology. The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for performing routine and corrective maintenance on meteorological equipment, instruments, and related facility systems to ensure continuous, reliable operation. Daily tasks include inspecting equipment, diagnosing technical issues, conducting repairs, and implementing preventive maintenance schedules in coordination with technical and operations teams. The role also involves documenting maintenance activities, adhering to safety and quality standards, coordinating with vendors when needed, and supporting the installation and commissioning of new equipment. The Maintenance Engineer will collaborate with engineering and meteorology staff to minimize downtime and maintain optimal performance of systems that support weather observation and forecasting.

Qualifications

• Strong background in Equipment Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair for technical and facility systems.
• Demonstrated expertise in Maintenance Engineering, including troubleshooting and optimizing equipment performance.
• Experience implementing Preventive Maintenance programs to reduce failures and extend equipment life.
• Proficiency in Electrical Maintenance for instrumentation, control panels, and related power systems.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, or related Engineering discipline (or equivalent experience).
• Ability to read technical drawings, equipment manuals, and maintenance documentation.
• Knowledge of safety standards, risk assessment, and compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
• Effective problem-solving skills and attention to detail in high-reliability environments.
• Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
• Previous experience in meteorological, industrial, or critical infrastructure environments is an advantage.
